Emory Non-invasive Vascular Laboratory

Advanced Diagnostic Services With Emory's Medical Expertise

The Emory Non-invasive Vascular Laboratory offers state-of-the-art diagnostic services, conveniently located and affiliated with one of the most respected and progressive vascular surgery centers in the world. Our location ensures that, in just one visit, patients can see a doctor, undergo a diagnostic test and then discuss the results with the doctor if needed.

The Non-invasive Vascular Lab is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) and is staffed by highly qualified and experienced vascular technologists and physicians.

The Lab is equipped to detect and analyze virtually any known vascular disorder, drawing on the following technologies:

Duplex ultrasounds use sound waves to assess the condition of blood vessels (including diameter and plaque build-up), as well as the movement of blood through the vessels.
Segmental pressure studies employ blood pressure cuffs to painlessly measure blood flow at various points in the arms and legs. Differences in blood pressure readings may indicate blockages.

At the request of a Division physician, patients may also undergo computed tomography angiography (CTA) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) at Emory's Department of Radiology. These procedures are used to help assess blood flow.
