1. What is Emory Healthcare?
Emory Healthcare is a health system affiliated with the world-renowned Emory University School of Medicine and Emory University Hospital, all located in Atlanta, Georgia.
The system includes The Emory Clinic, a physician practice of more than 600 doctors, including primary care physicians, specialists and sub-specialists with over ten primary care and multi-specialty health care centers located throughout the city. In Atlanta, Emory Healthcare also encompasses Emory Crawford Long Hospital, Emory-Adventist Hospital, Wesley Woods, our geriatric specialty center and hospital, Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital, and Emory-Children's Center, our pediatric specialty practice and clinic. There are also over 64 affiliated hospitals located throughout Georgia.

2. What is The Emory Clinic?
The Emory Clinic is a physician practice of more than 980 specialists, sub-specialists and primary care physicians. We recently celebrated 50 years of service to the community and, through those years, our physicians have been responsible for some of the most significant innovations and treatments in health care, including over 250 heart transplants.
The Emory Clinic has over ten primary care and multi-specialty health care centers located throughout Atlanta, including the main clinic buildings, A & B, located on the grounds of Emory University campus.

3. What is the relationship between the Emory University School of Medicine and Emory Healthcare?
The Emory University School of Medicine is the academic foundation and partner of the Emory Healthcare system. Since 1915, the university has been at the forefront of medical knowledge and research, pioneering many advances and procedures that have changed the face of medical history. The physicians of The Emory Clinic also serve as faculty members of the School of Medicine. In addition, the continuing research conducted by the medical students, fellows and faculty of the university assures that Emory Healthcare is equipped with the latest innovations in treatment at all of its hospitals and centers.

4. How do I find an Emory doctor?

404-778-7777 or, outside of Atlanta, 1-800-75-EMORY. The HealthConnectionSM line is staffed by registered nurses and representatives who can answer almost any question you may have about health information. They can also help you find a doctor and plan a visit to an Emory health center or hospital.

The physicians of The Emory Clinic represent a broad spectrum of specialty areas and primary care. Emory emerged as a leading cardiac center in the 1950s, and the Emory Heart & Vascular Center is consistently considered one of the top ten in the nation according to U.S. News and World Report.
We are also specially recognized as a center for cancer care at Emory Winship Cancer Institute, for ophthalmology at The Emory Eye Center, and for orthopaedics and neuroscience.
The Emory Transplant Center is known globally for innovations in the field. The transplant centers specialize in heart, islets, lung, liver, pancreas and kidney transplants.

7. How can a patient be admitted or transferred to an Emory Healthcare hospital?
Patients may be admitted to an Emory Healthcare hospital by either consulting with their current physician or seeing an Emory Clinic physician or physicians on the Emory Crawford Long Hospital campus. These physicians all have admitting privileges to Emory Crawford Long Hospital and Emory University Hospital.
Physicians who wish to refer their patients or admit them to an Emory Healthcare hospital should contact the Emory Physician Consult Line at 1-800-22-EMORY (Please note this phone number is for physicians only).

Yes, Emory Healthcare has community health services throughout the Georgia region. The Emory Heart & Vascular Center also has locations outside of Atlanta.
