Emory is committed to treating the entire patient: mind, body and spirit. For this reason, the Emory Winship Cancer Institute is planning a Healing Garden, a place of peace and reflection for patients, their families and our staff who share the emotional impact of their patients' diagnoses.
The Healing Garden for the Emory Winship Cancer Institute will be just outside the door to the Winship Building. It will be a space that is both a welcome respite from the clinical environment and a retreat for contemplation and meditation. Such a garden, with its implicit message of renewal and growth, will directly address the isolation that affects so many cancer patients and their families. Our vision embraces and supports the therapeutic benefits of a healing garden and the positive impact it will have on the Atlanta community.
The are currently several naming opportunities for the Emory Winship Cancer Institute Healing Garden, including the garden, plaza, water feature, garden spaces, benches and stone pavers. If you would like more information or if you are interesting in making a donation for the natural healing space, please contact the Emory Winship Cancer Institute Development Office at 404-778-5175.
