This extremely comprehensive site is directed towards physicians and patients. The Patient and Family Health Information area of the site includes information on vascular conditions, tests, and treatments; a vascular specialist locator; an explanation of the AAA screening medicare benefit; descriptions of patient education brochures and how to order them; current medical news and press releases; and listings of clinical trials compiled by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Bringing together authoritative information from the National Library of Medicine, the NIH, and other government agencies and health-related organizations, MedLinePlus has detailed data on over 700 diseases and conditions as well as links to thousands of clinical trials.

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI)

The NHLBI conducts, fosters, and supports an integrated and coordinated program of basic research, clinical investigations and trials, observational studies, and demonstration and education projects related to the causes, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart, blood vessel, lung, and blood diseases as well as sleep disorders. One of the site's most useful resources is a diseases and conditions index. The heart and blood vessel diseases section includes descriptions of angioplasty, aneurysm, coronary artery disease, mitral valve prolapse, peripheral arterial disease, stents, and varicose veins.
