Radiation Treatment and Oncology
Welcome to the Emory Department of Radiation Oncology
Radiation treatment for cancer involves large equipment that at first can feel overwhelming and impersonal. At closer inspection, the cancer radiation therapy department is more than the technology. It is a team of very caring people who are interested in a patient’s welfare and determined to give patients all the support they need. The cancer radiation therapy team is made up of physicians, nurses, physicists, radiation therapists, administrative staff, and a social worker. Every member of the team is here to assure that patients receive the best radiation treatment available and the most personal service that we can provide.
Patients become part of the team while they are undergoing cancer radiation therapy. When they have questions or concerns, we want to know about them. We will be available to them throughout their radiation treatment, and we welcome their active participation in the process.
Please visit the other areas of our website, or learn more about the radiation treatment department. We hope that we have presented useful information about the department and radiation therapy in a very understandable way but please feel comfortable in asking us to give you more information on anything that puzzles or concerns you.
